Ben Jones
Director Of Operartions
Ben Jones, our Director of Operations is a skilled technical tree climber and faller pulling from his past 8 seasons of experience in the USFS as a forestry technician (aka wildland firefighter), completing tasks as an NWCG Faller 1/C Faller, USFS certified Tree Climber, Incident Commander Type 5, Heavy Equipment boss trainee, Firing Boss, Saw boss, and Crew Boss.
Likewise, he has a diverse background not only in tree work, but also in risk analysis and hazard mitigation while managing different types of people, resources, and heavy equipment.
Husband to Marie and father of two, in his off time he enjoys whitewater rafting, building and creating, and spending time with his family.

Max Murphy
Sawyer
Born and raised in Grapevine, Tx, he graduated with a degree in philosophy from St. Edwards. University and moved to Northern California in 2019. He has spent the previous four fire seasons living in Salyer and working for the Forest Service. Now a sawyer and senior firefighter for Ukonom Handcrew.
Prior to wildland fire, his work experience is in land management, outdoor education, and construction.
He is a man of simple pleasures and enjoys timber felling, rock climbing, and ultimate frisbee. He's happiest when he's outside and challenging himself in new ways.
Lorin Daly
Sawyer
Lorin grew up in Humboldt County and now calls Salyer CA his home where he is first and foremost a husband and father. Currently, he's a senior firefighter for the USFS Ukunom handcrew and has been with them for seven seasons continuing his passion for the outdoors while tackling complex situations.
This and past experience assisting in land surveying for Sousa Land Surveys, and working for the Conservation Corps has built skills to efficiently and effectively construct trails, identify and remove invasive species, fall trees, clear brush, and construct fire line.
He continues developing skills in the outdoors to better his community and home.
